No gate, no ticket, 10,000 estimates
The King Mango Strut takes the streets of Coconut Grove on Sunday 3 January 2027 and sells no ticket for them. Admission is free. The about page puts the crowd at over 10,000 onlookers and the marchers at hundreds of Strutters. The home page dates the parade to 1982. Nothing on the domain sells a ticket, publishes an attendance cap or reports a gate count.
An operator pricing that Sunday works from two published records. One is a free parade with an estimated crowd, a street closure that starts at 10 a.m. and a parade that ends at 6 p.m. The other is a regional room rate that stops in September.
What the regional rate record carries
The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau republishes the STR monthly report by region. The September 2026 edition carries a Coconut Grove/Key Biscayne row: 56.9 per cent occupancy for September against 59.4 a year earlier, and 65.9 per cent year to date against 72.3. Room rate reads $267.83 against $202.10, and $381.13 year to date against $309.49. RevPAR reads $152.46 for September and $251.10 year to date.
Miami-Dade reads 62.8 per cent occupancy and $168.86 room rate for September, and 72.9 per cent and $252.60 year to date.
The report stops at September and stops at the region. It carries no January figure and no property line.
Converting rooms at the published rate
Ten rooms for two nights at the year-to-date room rate of $381.13 comes to $7,622.60. The same ten rooms at the September rate of $267.83 comes to $5,356.60. One room for two nights at the year-to-date rate comes to $762.26.
Those are rate conversions. No source publishes how many rooms the Strut weekend sells.
The closure is the operational fact
The organiser begins the street closure at 10 a.m., starts the parade at 2 p.m. and ends it at 6 p.m. It publishes no end time for the closure. A front desk cannot tell a departing guest when the closed streets reopen.
The Mutiny Hotel publishes an 11 a.m. check-out. That lands one hour after the closure starts. The organiser publishes no cross-street list, so which kerbs stay open to a car is unpublished.
What the Mutiny publishes about cars and terms
The Mutiny Hotel at 2951 South Bayshore Drive prices on-site valet at $30 per night plus tax per car and states that self-parking is not available, with metered street parking nearby. Check-in is 4 p.m. and check-out is before 11 a.m. Its suites are one and two bedroom units that sleep up to four or six adults.
The FAQ adds a first night's room and tax deposit at booking, a 72-hour cancellation window, a one-night penalty for early departure and a package and luggage storage fee that may apply. The front desk number is 305-441-2100.
Where the four hours land
The closure starts at 10 a.m. and the banana drop is at 2 p.m., which leaves four hours of closed streets before the parade. A 4 p.m. check-in lands two hours after the parade starts and two hours before it ends.
A Sunday departure at 11 a.m. falls inside the published closure window. The organiser publishes no parade-day rate or minimum stay.
What the record does not carry
No source in this read publishes a January rate for the district, a closure end time, a room-night count for the weekend, an attendance cap or a gate receipt. The 10,000 figure is an estimate on the organiser's about page.
The rate record and the parade record measure different things on different dates. One prices the region through September. The other times a free Sunday in January.
