SEMICON West warns exhibitors off unofficial room sellers

SEMICON West's Exhibitor Service Center tells exhibiting companies to forward unsolicited data-list and room offers to semiconwest@semi.org unless the sender carries the SEMI Official Contractor Seal. The show runs its own housing block through CMR.

The Warning Sits On The Exhibitor Page

The SEMICON West Exhibitor Service Center carries an Official Show Partners block. It tells exhibiting companies to look for the SEMICON West Official Contractor Seal when they place service orders, and it states that only contractors approved by SEMI may display the seal. The same block reports that exhibitors are often contacted by outside entities selling data lists or hotel rooms for SEMICON West. Its route for a complaint is to forward an unsolicited offer that arrives without the seal to semiconwest@semi.org, so show management can act on the sender.

What The Seal Covers

Show management's Exclusive Service Providers sheet names the contractors appointed for services it treats as exclusive, and states that exclusive means no other company may provide that service. Catering runs through Legends Global Hospitality. Furniture, cleaning, electrical, material handling, rigging, storage and truss and lighting labour run through GES. Internet and telecommunications run through Moscone Center, lead retrieval through American Tradeshow Services, and plant and floral through National Plant and Floral. Security is listed as coming soon.

Hotel reservations carry a separate recommended heading on the same sheet, and name CMR. Shipping runs through GES on that list, exhibitor insurance through Rainprotection Insurance, audio and visual as coming soon, and the San Francisco Travel Association as the convention and visitors bureau.

The Block The Show Runs

CMR, Convention Management Resources, is the official housing provider for SEMICON West 2026. General exhibitor housing opened on 11 March 2026 at 9 a.m. Pacific for individual reservations and for block requests, with priority sponsor block requests opening 4 March. A credit card guarantee is required, and the housing page states that hotels may charge a deposit of one night's room and tax two to three weeks before arrival.

The published deadlines run from a rooming list on 28 August to a last day to add, change or cancel on 29 September, with hotels taking over management of reservations on 1 October. Block requests open at 10 or more rooms. The housing pages direct guests to their confirmed hotel for changes and cancellations from 1 October.

CMR's Own Alert

The housing information page carries an alert that names CMR as the official hotel management company for SEMICON West housing. It states that no other hotel management company or travel agency is authorized to place reservations on the show's behalf, and that other companies have not entered agreements with the San Francisco hotels and are not able to guarantee rates and accommodations for the conference dates. It directs a company contacted by any other agency to SEMICON West Housing.

Suites, Functions And The Booth Line

Hospitality suites and meeting rooms at Moscone Center or at an official conference hotel need prior approval from SEMI show management, per the housing information page. The Exhibitor Service Center states that meeting space requests are available to exhibiting companies only and route through the Function Space and Hospitality Suite Request Form.

The show's Suitcasing and Outboarding Policy sets the boundary for anything off the floor. It prohibits solicitation by attendees without a booth, at the show and within contracted show hotels, and it names off-site exhibits and events at hotel hospitality suites and restaurants as outboarding. The policy requires any company wanting a function outside SEMICON West to hold a minimum 10 by 10 booth or spend $20,000 or more in sponsorship, and it names a contact for the approval. An attendee found in violation is asked to leave the facility.

Scale And Dates

SEMI's own announcement for the 2026 show states more than 1,500 booths and over 35,000 attendees, and puts exhibiting companies at over 734. The show runs Tuesday 13 to Thursday 15 October at Moscone Center, Moscone North and South, with 20 published floor hours across the three days. General exhibitor move-in runs Monday 12 October from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. after a dark Sunday.

The District Supply Line

The Yerba Buena Partnership publishes a roster of 11 district properties with street addresses, from Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa at 250 4th Street to W San Francisco at 181 3rd Street. The roster is the district partnership's own publication; the show's block runs through CMR. Engine puts the city's average at $165 a night across 3.1M par-rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, with October at $176, 7 percent above the city average.

The Read For A Property

The page that tells exhibitors to forward unsolicited room offers to one mailbox also carries the show's housing block, run through a single appointed provider. An agency or property that approaches an exhibitor without the seal is absent from the show's provider list, and CMR states that anyone outside its appointment is not authorized to place reservations and cannot guarantee rates or accommodations for the conference dates. The published handling for a complaint is the mailbox. The published handling for a suite or an off-site function is a form and a booth spend.
