A division built around asset value
Spire Hospitality has launched a Strategic Asset Performance division. The operator announced the unit on 30 September 2026. The division brings financial strategy, business intelligence, technology, artificial intelligence and hotel resources together around hotel and portfolio performance.
Spire describes the goal as connecting financial and operating intelligence to decisions at the property. The company says the division forms a single, data-driven model and pairs that insight with hotel leadership to protect and enhance asset value for owners.
Khan’s expanded remit
Spire promoted Shozib Khan to senior vice president of Strategic Asset Performance to lead the division. The promotion widens his leadership to information technology, hotel resources and transitions, brand resources, financial planning and hotel systems. His remit also covers Spire’s AI and enterprise automation strategy and direct partnership with owners on hotel performance.
Khan most recently served as vice president of owner services, and before that as vice president of hotel performance and analytics. He worked as a general manager earlier in his career. Spire credits him with more than 25 years of hospitality leadership experience.
Sandoval on earlier action
“Owners expect their management partners to do more than explain performance after the fact,” said Richard Sandoval, Spire Hospitality chief executive officer. “We need to see opportunities sooner and have the structure to act on them. Strategic Asset Performance creates that accountability, giving our teams a clearer path from what we’re seeing across the portfolio to actions that improve performance and strengthen asset value. Shozib is the right person to lead it, and this role reflects the impact he’s already had across our business.”
Khan on moving intelligence to the property
“The next evolution of hotel performance is seeing where the opportunity is before it shows up in a month-end report,” Khan said. “We’re moving financial intelligence closer to the property, putting the right resources behind what we find, and doing it fast enough to change the outcome, not just report on it.”
The division’s work
Spire says the division will build financial models around key decisions and performance opportunities. It will place executive oversight on selected hotels when a property needs more attention. It will also move financial planning toward a predictive discipline, so teams see earlier what could affect future performance.
The company states that AI and enterprise automation sit inside the division’s daily work. Spire says it uses those capabilities to make forecasting more predictive, retire manual processes and surface opportunities that would otherwise be difficult to identify. The company describes the result as a scalable performance engine that connects strategy to execution across the portfolio.
How the division works with owners
Spire frames the change around the owner relationship. It says decisions will be weighed through a financial and ownership lens, with closer alignment between what the data shows and what happens at each hotel. The company says owners gain a clearer view of performance, and Spire gains a sharper focus on where to act.
Spire Hospitality has its home office at 122 W John Carpenter Freeway in Irving, Texas. The company is part of the AWH Partners family, which includes AWH Development, a real estate development firm. AWH Partners is a privately held real estate investment firm headquartered in New York. Spire states a legacy of more than 35 years in hospitality leadership.
