Two Collins Avenue Hotels Turn Suites Into Fair Floors

Aqua Art Miami opens in the Aqua Hotel at 1530 Collins and INK Miami in the Suites of Dorchester at 1850. Both run 2-6 December and both put paying visitors through working hotel space.

Two hotels, two fairs, five days

The Miami Art Week schedule lists 18 fairs for 2026. Two of them run inside hotels on Collins Avenue in Miami Beach, and both hold the same five days, 2 to 6 December.

Aqua Art Miami takes the Aqua Hotel at 1530 Collins Avenue. INK Miami takes the Suites of Dorchester at 1850 Collins Avenue. A third listing, SATELLITE Art Show, carries the Satellite Hotel as "located on Collins Avenue (Satellite Hotel) next to the Aqua Art Fair", with its dates to be advised.

The building is the fair

Aqua's copy sells the property. Its home page describes "intimate exhibition rooms, which open into the beautiful courtyard of the classic South Beach hotel", and a second line reads "spacious exhibition rooms that open onto a breezy, intimate courtyard".

INK runs the same model. Its home page states that "transformed suites serve as gallery spaces for exploration". Its practical information page puts the fair in "the portion of the hotel originally built in 1939".

That page also carries the address detail a front office works from. The Dorchester sits on Collins Avenue at 18th Street, across the street from the ocean, one block from the Miami Beach Convention Center and the Fillmore at the Jackie Gleason Theater.

Forty-four open hours at 1850, forty-three at 1530

INK publishes a five-day schedule. Wednesday 2 December runs 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Thursday 3 December runs 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December run 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday 6 December runs 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. That is 44 hours of open floor.

Aqua publishes a preview and four public days. Wednesday 2 December runs 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. Thursday 3 December runs noon to 9 p.m. Friday 4 and Saturday 5 December run 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday 6 December runs 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. That is 43 hours.

The totals land an hour apart and the days sit apart. INK opens six hours before Aqua on the Wednesday. Aqua closes three hours after INK on the Sunday. Across the Wednesday, door time on the two properties runs from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., which is 13 hours of fair floor on one street.

The morning belongs to 1850

INK's Wednesday starts at 9 a.m. with an opening brunch that runs to noon, and the floor stays open to 7 p.m. Its second event is a Pulp Party on Thursday 3 December from 7 to 9 p.m.

Aqua's first door on the same day opens at 3 p.m. The preview admits Aqua, Art Miami and CONTEXT passholders, accredited press and Art Basel Miami Beach VIP passholders. It runs to 10 p.m.

A front desk at 1850 works a fair morning. A front desk at 1530 works an afternoon opening and a late close.

What the visitor rules do to a lobby

Aqua's visitor terms refuse large bags. The page names suitcases, folding bicycles, scooters and "any large items bigger than a handbag or laptop bag". Strollers are refused outright. Outside food and drink are refused. Pets are refused, with animals assisting disabled visitors exempt.

A guest cannot carry a suitcase across that threshold, and the Aqua page describes no bag check. The property holds the bag somewhere else or turns the guest away. Either answer lands on the lobby.

INK publishes a lighter rule set and routes arrivals through an INK Welcome Desk.

The accessibility line in a 1939 building

INK's practical information page states that the suites are not wheelchair accessible, because of the property's historic status. Visitors who cannot enter the individual rooms are asked to alert the INK Welcome Desk.

That desk is a lobby function on a fair day. A historic building with suite-level galleries routes access through a person standing in the public space.

The fair runs through the public spaces

Aqua's special projects page places the exhibition "through the hotel public spaces". The same page records a mural on the front of the Aqua Hotel from the 2025 edition and names the courtyard and the lobby as exhibition areas.

Five days of paying visitors therefore pass through the lobby, the lifts and the courtyard of a property that also takes room bookings.

What the properties publish and what they withhold

Neither fair publishes a capacity figure for its building. The week page publishes no attendance figure for the week.

INK charges nothing at the door. Its page offers tickets free with online registration.

SATELLITE Art Show's own site carries no 2026 Miami dates. The organisation describes itself as a 501(c)(3) non-profit platform with a permanent gallery at 279 Broome Street in Manhattan, and lists New York City, Miami and Austin.

Four questions a property answers before the doors open

Which door the fair uses, and whether that door is the guest entrance. Whether the lobby, the lifts and the courtyard are shared with paying guests for five days. Where luggage goes when the fair refuses it at the threshold. What the published occupancy limit is for the rooms the fair fills.

The schedule answers the calendar. The property answers the rest.
