Functional Fabric Fair opens its Fall Portland edition on Monday Oct 26 and runs three published windows across 24.5 hours. The Oregon Convention Center books the two show days into Halls B, C, D and E.
The three windows
Day 0, the OIA Catalyst Conference, runs Monday Oct 26 from 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Tuesday Oct 27 runs 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM for the Exhibit Hall and Expert Talks. Wednesday Oct 28 runs 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Day 0 holds 7.5 of the 24.5 hours. The Exhibit Hall and the Expert Talks programme hold the other 17.
Registration is required. The fair runs trade-exclusive, and the show floor opens free of charge to verified designers, product managers, purchasing managers and material managers.
The package an exhibitor buys
The exhibiting page states that every package features turn-key, sustainable booth builds that keep costs low and minimize the exhibitor's carbon footprint.
The sustainability page carries the material line. It names booths constructed with recycled and recyclable materials.
No booth price appears on the organiser pages read. The exhibiting page routes a supplier to an application form and a customer success contact.
The certificate behind the venue line
The organiser calls the Oregon Convention Center LEED Platinum-certified on its exhibiting and sustainability pages.
The venue's sustainability page carries the history. It became the first convention center in the world to earn LEED certification in 2004, took LEED Silver at the 2008 recertification, and earned Platinum in 2014. It recertified Platinum in 2019 and again in 2023.
The same page carries a second credential. The venue holds level 4 APEX/ASTM certification under the Events Industry Council's Sustainable Event Standards, and it is the only convention center in the United States to hold that level.
The page prints a waste goal of at least 70 percent diversion from landfill.
What stands on the floor
Eleven key areas fill the room. The Trend Forum holds 12 fabric categories.
The Cellulose Forum is new for this edition. It covers plant-based and cellulose materials, including hemp, linen, nettle, Lyocell, Modal and viscose.
Three forums run beside it: Bodywear, Cotton and Wool. A Future Fabrics Expo Innovation Hub and an Innovation Zone add two curated showcases. The Sustainability Lounge, the VIP Lounge, the Italian Bar and the Outdoor Recreation Archive make up the rest.
Complimentary coffee runs 8:30 to 10:30 AM on both show days, sponsored by Thermore.
The organisers name textile-to-textile recycling as the Expert Talks focus and bio-based materials as the Fall 2026 focus topic. Both lines sit on the sustainability page.
Who pays to walk the floor
The Standard Attendee badge is free and covers the Exhibit Hall and Expert Talks on Oct 27 and 28.
Premium Access costs $100 and adds a VIP registration line, one hour of early floor access, a $25 food and beverage voucher, exclusive guided tours and the digital Knowledge Hub.
The Conference badge costs $300 and adds the Day 0 programme with breakfast and lunch. Conference plus Full Engagement costs $400 and adds VIP lounge access, the VIP registration line, an hour of early floor access, a $25 voucher and guided tours.
The page prints a dated step on the two conference badges. Conference rises to $400 and Full Engagement to $500 from 10/12, and the step falls before the fair opens.
Press registration is free to accredited media. The page rules chief executives, publishers, advertising and sales representatives and custom publishers out of that route.
The housing block and its Oct 1 deadline
The organiser runs its room block through Connections Housing. The travel page states that group-rate rooms are limited and sold first come, first served, and that the reservation deadline was Oct 1, 2026.
The page states that official hotels will not honour direct reservations, and that a party needing 10 or more rooms submits a request to the housing team. Connections Housing charges no advance deposit, and no contract is required for exhibitor or group bookings.
The page warns that reservations made through any other agency carry the attendee's own risk, and asks attendees to report outside housing companies to show management.
The organiser publishes no attendance forecast and no exhibitor count, so a property pricing the week holds the floor hours, the rooms and the badge ladder, and no room-night total.
The circuit into 2027
The organiser lists three editions after this one. Winter runs Jan 27 to 29, 2027 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Spring runs April 13 to 15, 2027 at the Oregon Convention Center. Summer runs July 20 and 21, 2027 at the Javits Center in New York.
The Loop carries sourcing between the in-person dates.
