Thirteen thousand five hundred is the venue's number
The American Speech-Language-Hearing Association holds its 2026 annual convention at the Indiana Convention Center on 19 to 21 November. The venue publishes a forecast attendance of 13,500 in a structured field on its event page, and the venue’s event calendar carries the same figure against the 19 to 21 November dates.
Two further counts are published for the same meeting. The venue’s event page reads approximately 13,000 attendees. ASHA’s own site reads approximately 15,000. Each figure carries its publisher.
The calendar position
The venue’s event calendar puts five November bookings ahead of the block: the National Science Teaching Association fall convention on 4 to 7 November with a 4,000 forecast, the Monumental Health and Fitness Expo on 6 November with 20,000, the Midwest Healthcare Engineering Conference and Trade Show on 8 to 10 November with 600, the IU Health Leadership Development Institute on 10 November with 2,200, and the Percussive Arts Society International Convention on 11 to 14 November with 5,200. No Center booking falls between 15 and 18 November. The next booking after the block is the Economic Club of Indiana Luncheon on 2 December with a 300 forecast.
The organiser publishes more than 300 unique exhibiting businesses each year and places the show floor in Halls G to I. The venue’s event page reads nearly 400 exhibitors for the same floor.
The block runs through one housing company
Maritz Global Events, previously Spargo, holds registration and housing for the convention. ASHA names it the only official company and publishes the enforcement: three look-alike domains, a scam alert on third-party solicitors and an FBI warning on consent phishing in event-communication email.
The official rate list carries 27 properties and is stamped as of 9/10/26. Single rates run from $169 at the Tru by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown and the Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown to $300 at the Conrad Indianapolis, with a median of $228 and a spread of $131. ASHA publishes no cut-off date on any public page.
ASHA publishes one hotel penalty term. Hotel cancellations should be made no later than 72 hours before arrival, and a cancellation inside three days carries a one-night room-and-tax penalty charged to the card on file. Each property manages its own cancellation rules.
The pre-convention day carries its own room night
Wednesday 18 November is a published programme day. Board, committee and council meetings run 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., registration opens 11 a.m. and receptions run to 10 p.m. The Researcher-Academic Town Meeting runs 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
The complimentary shuttle runs 19 to 21 November, so a Wednesday arrival at a shuttle-served property has no published Wednesday service.
The supply arriving behind the block
The venue’s own news page carried the Signia by Hilton Indianapolis on 21 April 2026: 800 rooms, reservations open for stays from 1 February 2027, the city’s tallest hotel and the convention center’s newest headquarters hotel, with skywalk access to the center and a position on the Georgia Street promenade in the Wholesale District. The property is owned by the City of Indianapolis, with operations led by the Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County. It is the brand’s first property in the Midwest and in Indiana.
The venue’s expansion page publishes 803 rooms and a December 2026 opening, with 90,000 square feet of meeting space, a 50,455-square-foot Grand Ballroom, a 15,668-square-foot Junior Ballroom and a 9,000-square-foot Signature Ballroom. The two venue pages carry two room counts.
Downtown holds 7,100 rooms on the venue’s own footer, and 4,700 of them connect to the center through skywalks. Signia at 800 rooms is 11.3 percent of the downtown base.
The rotation
ASHA’s Locations page lists the convention calendar through 2040. The 2027 edition goes to New Orleans, 2028 to Denver, 2029 to Atlanta, 2030 to Philadelphia, 2031 to Los Angeles, 2032 to Chicago, 2033 to Boston, 2034 to San Antonio, 2035 to Seattle, 2036 to New Orleans, 2037 to San Diego, 2039 to Atlanta and 2040 to Washington, D.C.
Indianapolis holds 18 to 20 November 2038. The interval between the two Indianapolis editions is twelve years.
What a property should watch
The block’s shuttle category marks six of its 28 mapped properties: the Holiday Inn Express Indianapolis Downtown, the Holiday Inn Indianapolis Downtown, the Staybridge Suites City Centre, the Tru by Hilton Indianapolis Downtown, the TownePlace Suites Indianapolis Downtown and The Alexander.
No Center booking falls across the four days ahead of the block, and the next Center booking after it falls on 2 December. Signia adds 800 rooms to the venue’s published downtown base of 7,100 before Indianapolis holds the convention again in 2038.
