Four Rooms, Three Days
ATD Core4 runs at the Indiana Convention Center from 29 September to 1 October 2026. The venue publisher forecasts 1,000 attendees. ATD publishes four focus areas that supply four concurrent tracks: instructional design, training delivery and facilitation, evaluating impact, and emerging trends.
Four focus areas put four breakout rooms in play inside a single block, and the general session needs a fifth room for three keynotes. The venue page names the center and no hall, so no square footage can be quoted for the general session. The venue's own district figures are 7,100 downtown rooms and 4,700 connected by skywalk.
Four AV Packages
ATD publishes three session formats. Power Hour runs 60 minutes around discussion and activity. Industry Insights runs 60 minutes in a speaker-led lecture. Quick Wins runs 30 minutes on one tool, skill or case study.
The session titles decide the package in each room. Virtual-class tooling, laptop and software work, recording equipment, live polling and branching scenarios, and art materials all appear in the programme. Four rooms carry four different set-ups.
The Reset Windows
Four 30-minute breaks sit in the grid: Tuesday 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday 10:15 to 10:45 a.m. and 3:00 to 3:30 p.m., and Thursday 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. Wednesday adds a 60-minute lunch from 12:15 to 1:15 p.m.
Five changes get 15 minutes: Tuesday 4:00 to 4:15 p.m., Wednesday 11:30 to 11:45 a.m. and 2:15 to 2:30 p.m., and Thursday 9:00 to 9:15 a.m. and 11:15 to 11:30 a.m. Four rooms turn over inside each of those windows. ATD's Schedule at a Glance page carries the times.
Nine Food and Beverage Windows
Nine published windows carry fixed starts. Four are the 30-minute breaks. Two are breakfast chats at 7:15 a.m. on the Wednesday and Thursday. One is the Wednesday lunch. Tuesday adds a networking event from 5:30 to 6:10 p.m., and Wednesday a reception from 4:30 to 6:00 p.m.
Registration opens at 7:00 a.m. on the Wednesday and Thursday, so the breakfast service is set before the room fills.
CBRE Hotels Research puts labour at 59.4 per cent of food and beverage department expenses, the largest single line. Cost of goods sold takes 24.0 per cent and other expenses 16.6 per cent. Department profit margin moved from 28.7 per cent to 29.1 per cent. Public room rental rose 9.5 per cent and service charges 7.9 per cent. Banquet revenue fell 7.3 per cent at convention hotels and rose 8.7 per cent at resorts. CBRE draws the reading from its Trends analysis of U.S. full-service, resort and convention hotels, with 866 monthly statements covering January to June 2025.
The Building Turnover
The venue calendar lists 12 events between 22 September and 15 October. The Do it Best Corp. Fall Market runs 25 to 28 September and closes the day before three open. Core4, ATD OrgDev and the MAPP Benchmarking and Best Practices Conference all open on the Tuesday morning. One trade show moves out and three groups move in across one night.
What Sales Prices Against
Group business carries 14.4 per cent of U.S. room nights and 17.9 per cent of guest-paid revenue per available room, on Kalibri Labs data with PwC from 2015 to 2017. Group room revenue ran at $1.00 per available square foot of meeting space in 2017 against $0.92 in 2015. The same study reports that 12.1 per cent of U.S. hotels carry more than 30 square feet of meeting space per guest room.
Registration still moves the headcount. The Advanced tier closed on 18 September, and Standard is open at $1,525 for ATD members and $1,725 for nonmembers. Team rates for three or more run $1,450 and $1,650, and government rates $1,475 and $1,675.
A property quotes against four rooms live, four packages ready and five 15-minute resets inside one day, all against a 1,000-attendee forecast.
