A 1,200-delegate show lands on a four-show October week
The Best Practices Expo & Conference runs October 13 to October 15, 2026 at the Indiana Convention Center. The venue forecasts 1,200 attendees. Smith Onandia Communications, LLC of Pittsburgh produces the show, and the programme covers on-site industrial plant utilities: compressed air, nitrogen, HVAC and process cooling, and blower and vacuum systems.
The organiser runs two conference tracks and offers up to 12 professional development hours. Conference sessions open at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday. The expo floor runs from noon to 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday, per the organiser's agenda page.
The first Indiana booking
The Indiana Manufacturers Association joined the event as a supporting organisation. Andrew Berger, its president and chief executive, is a featured speaker. Roderick M. Smith, publisher of Best Practices Magazines & Expo, tied the booking to the state's manufacturing base.
"Manufacturing's percentage of total GDP in Indiana is at the very top in the U.S. and we're looking forward to bringing our 'Best Practices' partners to the state for the first time," Smith said.
Four shows share the week
The Metal Treating Institute's Furnaces North America occupies Exhibit Hall B from October 12 to 15 with a forecast of 1,500. The Indiana IT Symposium runs October 14 alone in Sagamore Ballroom 4-5 with a forecast of 300. The Economic Club of Indiana takes the 500 Ballroom on October 13 with a forecast of 300, and the Midwest Multifamily Conference follows on October 15 and 16 with a forecast of 950.
October 14 therefore carries 3,000 forecast people inside one building: this expo's 1,200, Furnaces North America's 1,500 and the IT Symposium's 300. The venue counts 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis.
Two host hotels hold the blocks
The organiser holds reduced-rate rooms at the Crowne Plaza Downtown Union Station at $214 a night, with the group cut-off extended to Friday, September 25, and at the Hyatt Regency Indianapolis at $229 a night, with a reserve-by date of Friday, September 18. Both properties connect to the Center through indoor walking tunnels. The organiser states that reduced-rate rooms are limited and recommends early booking.
The organiser also publishes a housing-fraud warning, which states that authorised organisations do not contact attendees about rooms.
The supply arriving behind it
The Signia by Hilton Indianapolis adds 803 rooms on a skybridge connection to the Center, and the venue expects the opening in December 2026. The hotel carries 90,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 50,455-square-foot Grand Ballroom and a 15,668-square-foot Junior Ballroom.
Visit Indy counts the convention centre expansion at 143,500 square feet with a 50,000-square-foot ballroom, and expects the connected hotel package to reach 13 properties and 5,500 rooms. The 2026 delivery list adds the Motto at 116 rooms in the King Cole Building. The Kimpton opens 167 rooms in the Odd Fellows Building in 2027, and the Ritz-Carlton opens 176 rooms in 2028.
What the week asks of the market
A 1,200-delegate show asks for 16.9 percent of the downtown room count. The 803 rooms arriving in December 2026 hold 11.3 percent of it.
