Two closures on one weekend
The 2027 Chinese New Year Parade steps off at 5:15 p.m. on Saturday 20 February from 2nd and Market Streets. The route runs about 1.3 miles, passes Union Square and ends at Kearny Street and Columbus Avenue. The organiser gives the running time as about 2-1/2 hours, which places the close near 7:45 p.m.
The Community Street Fair runs the same Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday 21 February from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Grant Street between California and Broadway. Those hours sit in the Chamber's 2027 street fairs announcement, a one-page PDF linked from the fair page. The fair carries more than 120 booths and concessions and an entertainment stage on Pacific Street below Grant Avenue.
Saturday carries the parade and the fair together. Sunday carries the fair alone.
The clocks the organiser publishes
SFPD begins closing streets around 3 p.m. The FAQ adds that the organiser is not responsible for delays the closures cause. Bleacher holders are asked to reach their assigned section by 4:00 p.m. The step-off is at 5:15 p.m.
Three intervals follow. The closure to the step-off is 2.25 hours. The check-in line to the step-off is 75 minutes. The closure to the estimated 7:45 p.m. close is 4.75 hours.
The organiser publishes no street-by-street closure list. A desk can give the step-off, the finish and the check-in line, all of which are published. A driveway reopens when SFPD clears the block, and no page dates that.
Driveway access follows the bleacher blocks
Four bleacher sections sit on named blocks. Section A runs on Kearny Street between Washington and Jackson Streets. Section B runs on Kearny Street between California and Sacramento Streets. Section C runs on Post Street between Grant Avenue and Kearny Street. Section E runs on Geary Street between Stockton and Powell Streets.
A frontage on Kearny between California and Sacramento sits inside the Section B footprint for the afternoon. A frontage on Post between Grant and Kearny sits inside Section C.
Straight-line distances from the open map index put the Omni San Francisco Hotel at 500 California Street 151 metres from Kearny and Sacramento Streets, the Hilton San Francisco Financial District at 750 Kearny Street 126 metres from Kearny and Jackson Streets, and the Grand Hyatt San Francisco at 345 Stockton Street 125 metres from Post and Grant Avenue. The Palace Hotel at 2 New Montgomery Street stands 169 metres from the step-off point.
A bounded map query for hotels around the route returned 50 records. All 50 sit within 481 metres of one of those published intersections, and 39 within 350 metres. Every distance is straight-line.
Valet timing and the retrieval window
A car that leaves a garage after 3 p.m. returns into a closed block. The published window that fits is a retrieval before the closure begins and a return after the parade passes the property.
The route starts at 2nd and Market and ends at Kearny and Columbus, so the clear time differs along it. No page publishes a per-block clear time. A property that runs a valet sets its own retrieval window and publishes it under the property's own name.
A bleacher guest still in the lobby at 4:30 p.m. has 45 minutes to reach the assigned section. A valet queue inside that window costs the guest the seat they bought.
Taxi and transit drop-off
Five garages the organiser names sit inside or against the closure area: Ellis-O'Farrell at 123 O'Farrell Street, Golden Gateway at 250 Clay Street, Portsmouth Square at 733 Kearny Street, North Beach at 735 Vallejo Street and Vallejo Street at 766 Vallejo Street.
The transportation page recommends public transport and names BART stops at Embarcadero, Montgomery, Powell and Civic Center on Market Street, plus Caltrain at 4th Street and Townsend.
A drop at Powell Street station leaves the guest 285 metres from Geary and Powell, the Section E block, on a walk that runs north from Market Street. A drop point inside the route loop after 3 p.m. puts the car in the closure on its way out.
Sunday carries the second closure
The fair's second day runs 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Grant Street between California and Broadway. Grant carries the fair on both days, so a frontage on that street keeps its pavement in use after the parade has passed.
The Ritz-Carlton at 600 Stockton Street stands 134 metres from Grant and California. The Orchard Garden Hotel at 466 Bush Street stands 194 metres from the same corner, and the Hotel Astoria at 510 Bush Street 214 metres.
No setup or teardown window for the fair appears on the fair page or in the announcement PDF.
Three items for the front desk
Three items save lobby time: the section address with the 4:00 p.m. check-in line, the 3 p.m. closure clock, and the badge rule. The FAQ states that a receipt will not admit anyone to the bleachers, that the ticket QR code is presented at a check-in station, and that the guest receives a badge to display while seated.
The ticket page labels Section A1 as covered by a canopy and closest to Chinatown, and Section E3 as the Union Square section that includes a gift bag.
The sections bar oversized cushions, coolers, pets, selfie sticks and camera tripods. Portable restrooms sit along the route near the bleacher areas.
What the organiser does not publish
No hotel block, no rate and no cut-off date appear on the site, and the site carries no hotel page. The transportation page's parking block still names the 2026 festival, so no window is quoted from it.
Accessible seating inside each section sells at the standard bleacher price, and a free reserved accessible viewing area runs along the street barricades. Children two and under need no ticket. The parade office answers on (415) 889-8891.
