Dusit celebrates Michelin recognition across its global portfolio, led by Two-Key status for flagship Dusit Thani Bangkok

Dusit Thani Bangkok rises from One to Two Michelin Keys in the 2026 global hotel selection. Dusit Thani Kyoto and Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu hold One Key each, and three ASAI hotels join the guide curated selection.

Dusit Hotels and Resorts has taken a second Michelin Key at its Bangkok flagship. The hotel arm of Dusit International said Dusit Thani Bangkok was elevated from One to Two Michelin Keys in the Michelin Guide 2026 global hotel selection. The company announced the recognition in a release dated 28 September 2026 in Bangkok. The same release reports Key or dining recognition in Thailand, Japan, the Philippines and the UAE.

A Two-Key rating denotes an exceptional stay in the guide’s hotel scheme. A single Key denotes a very special stay. Dusit Thani Bangkok sat at One Key until this edition, the release says.

Dusit Thani Bangkok Moves From One Key to Two

The flagship stands opposite Lumpini Park in central Bangkok. Dusit rebuilt it on the site of the original hotel. That building opened in 1970 and closed for redevelopment in 2019.

The property reopened in September 2024 with 257 rooms. It forms part of Dusit Central Park, a mixed-use development that combines the hotel with residences, offices, retail and a rooftop park. Every guest room looks out over Lumpini Park, per the release.

Dusit describes the hotel as a contemporary interpretation of its predecessor’s identity, and as a new benchmark for the Dusit Thani brand. It pairs the group’s Thai hospitality heritage with contemporary design and customised service at each property.

Kyoto and Mactan Cebu Retain One Michelin Key Each

Two other Dusit properties held their Key level. Dusit Thani Kyoto in Japan and Dusit Thani Mactan Cebu Resort in the Philippines each retained One Michelin Key. That keeps Dusit’s Key presence across three countries: Thailand, Japan and the Philippines.

Dusit Thani Kyoto opened in September 2023, per the group’s announcement of the property’s first Key in October 2025. The same announcement recorded a single Michelin Key for Dusit Thani Bangkok, unveiled on 8 October 2025, and a second consecutive Key for Kyoto. Those two lines are what the from-One-to-Two wording in the new release rests on.

Three ASAI Hotels Join the Guide’s Curated Selection

Three ASAI Hotels properties appear in the guide’s curated hotel selection. They are ASAI Bangkok Chinatown, ASAI Bangkok Sathorn and ASAI Kyoto Shijo. Dusit describes ASAI as its locally focused lifestyle brand.

The curated selection covers properties chosen by Michelin inspectors for their quality, individual character and connection to their destinations, according to the release.

Cannubi Keeps Its Star as Thailand’s Only Italian Holder

The dining side of the showing turns on one Star. Cannubi by Umberto Bombana at Dusit Thani Bangkok holds One Michelin Star in the Michelin Guide Thailand 2026. Dusit calls it the only Italian restaurant in Thailand to hold that distinction.

The contemporary Italian restaurant took its first Star when the 2026 edition of the Thailand guide was announced in November 2025, the release states.

Bangkok, Manila and Abu Dhabi Restaurant Listings

Thien Duong, the Vietnamese restaurant at Baan Dusit Thani in Bangkok, retained its Michelin Bib Gourmand. The Bib Gourmand recognises good-quality, good-value cooking.

Benjarong and Umu at Dusit Thani Manila both appear as Michelin Selected restaurants in the Michelin Guide Philippines 2026. Benjarong serves Thai cuisine and Umu serves Japanese dishes.

In the UAE, Namak at Dusit Thani Abu Dhabi continues as a Michelin Selected restaurant. Namak serves contemporary Indian cuisine. The release does not name the guide edition behind that listing.

The Group CEO Says the Honours Belong to the Teams

Chanin Donavanik, Group CEO of Dusit International, tied the Two-Key result to the wider portfolio in the release.

“Receiving Two Michelin Keys for Dusit Thani Bangkok is a tremendous honour, and one made even more meaningful by the wider Michelin recognition our hotels and restaurants continue to receive across several destinations,” Donavanik said. “These achievements belong first and foremost to our teams, whose skill, creativity, and care shape the experiences our guests enjoy every day.”

He added that the group links Thai hospitality heritage to the needs of current travellers, and that it will keep building on that base across the portfolio.

The single date attached to the Two-Key award is the release’s own 28 September 2026 publication date. The release names a guide edition for every other honour it reports.
