Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2026: Three Park Days, One Housing Line

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2026 runs October 2 to 4 in Golden Gate Park with no room block and a housing referral line. Street closures and park parking terms are published.

Three Park Days

Hardly Strictly Bluegrass 2026 runs Friday October 2, Saturday October 3 and Sunday October 4 in Golden Gate Park, San Francisco. The event is free and takes no ticket.

The organiser publishes no room block, names no host property and issues no group code. The housing answer is a referral.

The Housing Channel Is A Referral

The FAQ asks visitors to call the Chamber of Commerce, use a travel site, or contact the San Francisco Convention and Visitors Bureau. Rooms are booked on www.sfvisitor.org, or through the Visitor Information Center on 415-391-2000 and toll free on 888-782-9673 (STAY-N-SF).

Camping is banned in Golden Gate Park. The organiser points to Rob Hill Campground in the Presidio and an RV park by Candlestick.

What The Closures Take

The organiser publishes the closure list. JFK Drive closes between Transverse Drive and Bernice Rogers Drive. The 36th Avenue and 30th Avenue closes run between Fulton Street and JFK Drive. Transverse Drive closes between Crossover Drive and Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Overlook Drive closes between Transverse Drive and Middle Drive West. Middle Drive West closes between Transverse Drive and MLK. Metson Drive closes between Middle Drive West and MLK. MLK runs westbound only between 25th Avenue and Chain of Lakes. The Polo Fields parking area at North Stables and on Metson Drive closes for the run.

Parking In The Surrounding Neighbourhoods

The FAQ states that parking in the neighbourhoods surrounding Golden Gate Park is extremely limited. The organiser asks visitors to respect the neighbourhood and states that people live there.

The organiser expects paid parking run by local PTAs on Saturday and Sunday only, first come first served, at a few lots. Last year's lots were George Washington High School at 600 32nd Avenue, Argonne at 680 18th Avenue, Lawton Alternative School at 1570 31st Avenue, Lafayette Elementary at 4545 Anza Street and the SFUSD Admin Campus at 750 25th Avenue. Each lot is independently owned and operated, and the organiser states it cannot guarantee access at the published dates and times.

Gate Hours And Performance Hours

The organiser publishes no attendance figure and no capacity figure. Gate hours run eight on Friday and ten on each weekend day. Performance hours run six on Friday and eight on each weekend day.

Entrances open at 11 a.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, and performances end at 7 p.m. daily. Waste management sweeps the park each evening, which the organiser states leaves no way to save a space for the following day.

Six Stages On A Webcast

Six stages carry the programme: Banjo, Swan, Towers of Gold, Rooster, Arrow and Horseshoe Hill. The schedule lists no Rooster set on Friday, so Friday runs five. The three days carry 22 performance hours.

All six stages stream on HSBTV.

The Donation Record

The Community page states that Hardly Strictly has donated more than $4 million to music and arts communities in the Bay Area and across the country. The copyright line on the site reads 2001 to 2026, and the archive numbers the first edition Strictly Bluegrass #1 (2001) and the 2019 edition HSB #19.

Admission to the park is free on all three days.

The October Rate

Engine puts San Francisco at $165 a night across 3.1 million public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026, in par rates. October averages $176, 7 percent above the city average. September averages $192, March $197 and December $129. San Francisco ranks 18th of 50 markets at 11 percent above the $148 median, and the figures rest on searches made 10 to 180 days before check-in.

The Property Exposure

The published housing line is 415-391-2000. The property exposure runs through the closure list and the organiser's own statement that neighbourhood parking is extremely limited.

The organiser publishes no attendance figure, so the visitor volume behind the park carries no number from the source.
