Hilton Garden Inn Midtown East Finishes a Full-Building Renovation

The 207-room Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Midtown East has completed a property-wide renovation led by Baskervill, adding 14 convertible room types and the Back Room Restaurant & Bar.

A 207-Room Rebuild in Midtown East

Hilton Garden Inn New York/Manhattan-Midtown East has finished a full property renovation. The work covers all 207 guestrooms, the lobby, the restaurant, the marketplace, the business centre and the fitness and laundry rooms.

The hotel stands at 206 East 52nd Street inside a 28-storey building.

Fourteen Room Types That Change Shape

Fourteen room types now carry integrated wall beds. A guest moves between living, working and sleeping inside the same room.

The hotel states it is currently the only Hilton Garden Inn property with that configuration. The brand publishes no property-by-property register of room configurations, so the claim rests on the hotel's own word.

Desks That Fold Into Beds

The Workspace Rooms work as private offices or as meeting space for up to four people. A conference table folds away and a king bed sits underneath. A Workspace Room connects to an adjoining king room to make a two-room suite.

The Studio Rooms run as a living area by day and a king bedroom at night. The hotel addresses them at longer stays, at families and at guests visiting Memorial Sloan Kettering.

The Lobby Bar

The Back Room Restaurant & Bar fills the social space. Wood wall panelling, an elevated bar, a pool table and arcade games sit in it. The room opens for breakfast, dinner and evening cocktails and carries a signature Smash Burger. A commissioned artwork titled Speakeasy Subway hangs on the wall.

The Design and the Build

Baskervill led the transformation and worked from the brand's Bloom scheme: blue tones accented with yellow, warm textures and modern finishes.

The hotel bought through Mindclick for reclaimed wood fibre furnishings, recycled nylon carpeting, GREENGUARD-certified furniture and low-VOC finishes. AtmosAir units run in every guestroom and in all public areas.

What the Announcement Leaves Out

The release carries no renovation start date, no completion date and no project cost. It gives no square footage for meeting space.

“Our goal with this renovation was to create a hospitality experience that represents how people gather, work, and travel today,” said Joel Ruiz, general manager of the hotel.
