Hotel Indigo passes 200 open hotels
IHG Hotels & Resorts says its Hotel Indigo brand reached 200 open hotels, up from 100 in 2019. The company dated the milestone to its release of 5 October 2026 and holds 134 more Hotel Indigo properties in development. The brand launched in 2004.
The release footnotes its figures at 30 June 2026. IHG's own brand page lists 198 open hotels and 26,726 rooms under the same stamp, and the development page lists the same 198 and 134 plus 21,526 pipeline rooms.
Where the 134 pipeline hotels sit
In the Americas, IHG opened Hotel Indigo Turks & Caicos Grace Bay as the brand's first property in the territory, alongside Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortes and Hotel Indigo Tijuana Downtown in Mexico and Hotel Indigo Raleigh in North Carolina. The region's named signing is Hotel Indigo Guanacaste in Costa Rica.
In Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa, the recent openings are Bangkok Thonglor in Thailand, Gloucester – The Forum and London K West Shepherd's Bush in the United Kingdom. The recent signings are Phuket Nai Yang Beach in Thailand and a first signing in Egypt, which will also carry the brand's first branded residences. Hotel Indigo Riyadh Al Olaya opens next year and gives the brand its Saudi debut.
In Greater China, Hotel Indigo Ningbo opened, and Hotel Indigo Chongqing Chaotianmen and Hotel Indigo Jingdezhen Taoxichuan are due.
Three country debuts in two years
The brand entered the Caribbean with Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman, Portugal with Hotel Indigo Albufeira and Peru with Hotel Indigo Lima Miraflores. The release puts Hotel Indigo in more than 30 countries, and IHG's brand page puts it in more than 20.
Gloucester, on the council record
Gloucester City Council published its own account of the Forum opening. The council record gives Hotel Indigo at The Forum 129 rooms as the centrepiece of the £107m Forum development, opened on 24 March 2026, with a rooftop bar and two further venues. The council called it the city's first boutique hotel.
What IHG leaves unnamed
IHG names no 200th property. The release carries no new room count, no regional split of the 134 pipeline hotels and no date for the Egypt signing.
Vicki Poulos, vice president for Luxury & Lifestyle brands at IHG, said the milestone rests on the brand's neighbourhood position. IHG describes itself in the release's corporate block as a company with 21 hotel brands, more than one million rooms across 7,100 hotels in over 100 countries and a pipeline of 2,400 properties.
