Five Bookings In 36 Days At One Venue
The IU Natatorium publishes five dated bookings across a 36-day run from 5 February to 13 March 2027. The venue's own events page carries the list and stamps it updated 9/2/2026.
The five sit in sequence: the Jaguar Aquatics Winter Invitational on 5-7 February, the IHSAA girls swimming and diving state finals on 12-13 February, the Horizon League Swimming & Diving Championships on 17-20 February, the IHSAA boys swimming and diving state finals on 26-27 February, and the NCAA Division II Swimming & Diving Championships on 9-13 March.
The same page lists the USA Swimming Speedo Sectional Championships on 18-21 March, five days after the Division II meet closes.
Four Consecutive February Weekends
The four February bookings fall on four consecutive weekends. 5 February 2027 is a Friday and 7 February a Sunday. The gaps between the bookings are 5 days, 4 days and 6 days.
The Division II championship opens 10 days after the boys state final closes, and that meet runs Tuesday to Saturday.
The IHSAA's own 2026-27 dates put the girls sectionals on 4 and 6 February and the boys sectionals on 18 and 20 February, with diving regionals on 9 and 23 February.
The Horizon League's own 2026-27 championship table lists its swimming and diving championship at the IU Natatorium on 17, 18, 19 and 20 February 2027, hosted by IU Indianapolis. The table carries the dates, the venue and the host, and no session clock.
The Nights Each Booking Holds
The shapes differ across the five. The Jaguar Aquatics meet runs Friday to Sunday, a two-night stay. An IHSAA state final runs Friday to Saturday, one night each. The Horizon League block runs Wednesday to Saturday, three nights. The Division II championship runs Tuesday to Saturday, four nights, and five when the closing Saturday night is held.
The run backs onto a busy January. That month carries six bookings, and three of them are dated 23 January or later, so five of the month's final nine days hold a booking.
The Downtown Room Base
Two publishers count the same downtown inventory. The Indiana Convention Center's footer gives 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis and 4,700 connected to the center by skywalk. Its attendee hotels page adds that more than half of those 7,100-plus rooms sit within blocks of the center and Lucas Oil Stadium.
Visit Indy gives more than 9,400 hotel rooms downtown with 5,200 connected to the convention center. Its meeting-hotels page gives 34,000 rooms in the metro area, over 8,300 downtown with more than 3,000 in the pipeline, and 4,700 rooms connected at 12 hotels with 800-plus in development.
The connected roster names 12 properties. The JW Marriott Indianapolis carries the largest single count at 1,005 rooms and 104,482 square feet of meeting space. The roster's own rows sum to 5,133 rooms against the page's printed total of 5,200.
The Newest Property Opens Days Before The First Booking
The Convention Center's own news item reports 800 rooms at Signia by Hilton Indianapolis, the city's tallest hotel, with direct skywalk access to the center, and reservations for stays beginning 1 February 2027. That first stay night is four days before the Jaguar Aquatics meet opens and 36 days before the Division II championship opens. Visit Indy's connected roster gives the same property 803 rooms, 235,000 square feet of meeting space and a 50,000-square-foot ballroom.
The February Rate Basis
Engine publishes a citywide Indianapolis average of $128 per night across 1.2M public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. February averages $107, 16 percent below the citywide figure. May averages $158, 23 percent above it. The page calls each point a par rate, the cheapest publicly available price at the time of each search, observed 10 to 180 days before check-in.
The Booking Windows
The IHSAA's 2026-27 Seasons at a Glance document puts the girls tourney entry list deadline on 28 January 2027 and the boys on 11 February 2027. Each sits 15 days before its own first session, and the boys deadline sits 7 days before the first sectional.

What A Downtown Property Can Put Against The Run
The venue's calendar carries the dates and the names. Neither the IHSAA state finals pages nor the league's championship table carries a housing block, a room rate or a booking cut-off for any of the five bookings.
