Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced on 10 September 2026 that a Hyatt affiliate has entered a franchise agreement with an affiliate of CL Capital for the Oxford Witney Hotel. The 130-room property is expected to join the JdV by Hyatt brand portfolio by the end of 2026, according to the release. That would mark the brand’s debut in the United Kingdom.
The announcement carries a Chicago dateline dated 10 September 2026. Head for Points flagged the conversion for UK readers six days later.
InnPractice takes the operation
InnPractice will operate the hotel. CL Capital appointed the operator to run the property following its expected transition to the JdV by Hyatt brand.
The operator runs the InnSights platform, which gives owners a single view of financial, operational and guest experience performance.
What the finished hotel will carry
The property will hold 130 guestrooms, a restaurant and a bar, both sourcing produce from local suppliers, and 1,205 sq ft of flexible meetings and events facilities. The release states the events space can host up to 90 guests.
The hotel is undergoing a transformation designed to reflect the character and heritage of its surroundings. Hyatt states the guest experience and interiors will draw on Witney’s wool-making heritage, the hand-made spirit of the Arts & Crafts movement and a local sense of place.
Corkill on the UK debut
“Bringing the JdV by Hyatt brand to the UK will be an important milestone for the brand and a natural fit for Witney — a destination with a strong identity and sense of place,” said Anna Corkill, RVP Development UK & Ireland at Hyatt. “Together with CL Capital and InnPractice, we are creating a hotel that reflects the character of the local community while giving guests a distinctive new way to experience Oxfordshire.”
Norris on the setting
“This is a landmark moment for both InnPractice and for the JdV by Hyatt brand’s upcoming arrival in the UK,” said Graham Norris, Managing Partner at InnPractice. “Oxford Witney Hotel is a compelling setting for the brand’s debut: a characterful market town with its own identity, strong connections to Oxford and the Cotswolds, and real potential to become part of the local social fabric.”
Witney as the base
The hotel sits within walking distance of Witney’s historical center, approximately 15 miles west of Oxford and within reach of the Cotswolds. Hyatt describes Witney as the largest market town in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds.
The release lists Witney’s twice-weekly market, its independent shops and local food scene, the Corn Exchange arts venue in Market Square, and Cogges Manor Farm among nearby draws. It points walkers to the River Windrush, Witney Lake and Country Park, and day trips to Oxford, Blenheim Palace and Minster Lovell Hall.
Hyatt’s own footprint
JdV by Hyatt is a collection of independent hotels. Hyatt states its portfolio included more than 1,500 hotels and all-inclusive properties in 83 countries as of 30 June 2026.
What the announcement does not say
The release gives no opening date. It states only that the hotel is expected to join the JdV by Hyatt brand portfolio by the end of 2026. The conversion is a signed and announced plan.
The announcement carries no investment figure, no room rate and no terms of the InnPractice operating appointment.
