The scale the organiser publishes
Microsoft Ignite runs 17-20 November 2026 at Moscone Center in San Francisco. The venue's own event feed records the booking for Moscone North, South and West from 17 to 20 November. The numbers block on the event site lists 20K+ in-person attendees, 200K+ digital attendees, 2,100+ speakers and 830+ sessions, under the heading "Microsoft Ignite by the numbers".
The 830+ sessions run across a four-day in-person programme, or about 208 a day. The venue FAQ puts more than 20,000 hotel rooms within walking distance of The Moscone Center. Its booking page puts more than two-thirds of the City's 34,000 hotel rooms within walking distance.
The pass mix behind the week
The event sells two priced passes, one free pass and one add-on. The Conference pass costs $2,325 and covers the in-person programme at the Moscone Center campus plus the digital venue, with lunches, snacks and beverages included. The Hub-only pass costs $1,625 and covers Hub experiences across 17-19 November. The Digital pass is free. The Pre-day pass is a $325 add-on to the Conference pass.
The free tier and the Hub-only tier both stop at 19 November. The campus programme runs to 20 November. The event page lists the Conference, Hub-only and Digital passes, and the Advantage pass appears in the FAQ drawer, which ties block access to it.
The block clock
The hotel block closes at 3:00 PM Pacific on Friday 16 October 2026. The page's own sentence reads: "Hotel reservations secured through the Microsoft Ignite registration page must be booked by 3:00 PM Pacific Time on Friday, October 16, 2026."
The same Friday carries the cancellation clock. Cancellation requests must be received by 11:59 PM Pacific on 16 October 2026. Conference and Hub-only passes cancelled on or before that date are eligible for a refund minus a $200 processing fee. The two deadlines sit 8 hours 59 minutes apart on one date.
Block access runs as a request inside the registration flow. The FAQ drawer headed "What hotels are included with the Advantage pass?" names Canopy by Hilton San Francisco SoMa, Hyatt Regency San Francisco Downtown SoMa, Palace Hotel and San Francisco Marriott Marquis. It states that booking access is limited to those four and that reservations are available while inventory lasts and are subject to availability. The four properties publish no nightly rate, no room count and no cut-off at property level.
In-person registrations and registration transfers both close at 5:00 PM Pacific on Friday 13 November 2026. Four days separate that deadline from the opening day.
What the rate data says about November
The Engine citywide ladder puts the San Francisco average at $165 a night across 3.1M public rate observations from May 2024 to April 2026. November averages $147, 11 per cent below the citywide figure. December is the cheapest month at $129 and March the priciest at $197, a 35 per cent spread across the year. San Francisco ranks 18 of 50 major US markets and sits 11 per cent above the $148 median of that set.
The ladder places November below the city average and carries no event-week figure.
CoStar reported San Francisco on 28 September 2026 with the largest increases across all three measures among the Top 25 markets for August 2026: occupancy at 79.3 per cent, ADR at $216.77 and RevPAR at $171.84. Its weekly release of 1 October 2026 gives San Francisco the largest RevPAR lift in the Top 25 for the week to 26 September 2026, up 35.1 per cent to $223.16. Neither release covers November.
AHLA and the California Hotel & Lodging Association released an Oxford Economics study on 25 June 2026. The study puts the economic impact of San Francisco hotels at more than $12 billion in 2025 and about $900 in citywide spending per room night, supporting nearly 50,000 jobs and paying $2 billion in total taxes. It attributes the market rebound of 2025 to "a materially stronger convention calendar and the return of large-scale events", and records ADRs at 92 per cent of 2019 levels with 98 per cent forecast for 2026.
The online tier
The free Digital pass covers an online event on 17-19 November, three days against the four-day campus programme. The online window closes a day before the in-person programme.
What is not published
The organiser publishes no 2026 attendance forecast, no room-night target, no block pick-up figure and no block rate. The four block properties carry no published rate. The venue feed commits the whole campus to the week.
