Preferred Adds 11 Hotels to Its Legend Collection

Preferred Adds 11 Hotels to Its Legend Collection

Preferred Hotels & Resorts has added 11 hotels to its Legend Collection, taking the independent hotel group’s top luxury tier past 125 properties worldwide. The company announced the intake on 29 September 2026. Boutique Hotel News reported it on 6 October.

The additions span Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East. The list mixes recently opened hotels, established properties and two properties announced ahead of opening.

The 11 Additions

Preferred records the Legend Collection members that joined its portfolio in 2026 as BLESS Hotel Barcelona, launched August 2026; BLESS Ibiza The Site, launched June 2026; Dusit Thani Bangkok; Edgewood Tahoe Resort in Stateline, Nevada; MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites in Lisbon, launched December 2025; Palais Jamaï Fès in Morocco, launching October 2026; San Clemente Palace Venice; Serras Sevilla, launched September 2026; The Cooper in Charleston, South Carolina, launched March 2026; The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary in Madikeri, India, launched July 2026; and Wynn Al Marjan Island in the United Arab Emirates, launching spring 2027.

Europe Takes the Largest Share

Spain supplies three of the additions, all opened this year. Preferred places BLESS Hotel Barcelona on the Passeig de Gràcia and describes BLESS Ibiza The Site as a reimagining of the island. Serras Sevilla made its debut in September 2026 in Seville.

Two more European entries are Italian and Portuguese. San Clemente Palace Venice sits on its own island in the Venetian Lagoon. MYTHIC SANA Downtown Suites occupies Lisbon’s Baixa Pombalina district, where Preferred says a Golden Sleeves butler service tailors details from in-room cocktails to bath rituals for each guest.

Heritage in Bangkok and Morocco

Dusit Thani Bangkok joins as an established property. Preferred says the hotel expresses contemporary luxury through Thai-inspired design, cultural rituals and a standard of hospitality that has defined the property for more than seven decades.

Palais Jamaï Fès opens in October 2026 in a restored late 19th-century palace overlooking the historic city. Preferred describes it as a gateway to the heritage of Fes.

Nature in Tahoe and the Western Ghats

The Leela Coorg Forest Sanctuary sits amid 76 acres of ancient forest in the Western Ghats mountain range in India. Preferred frames the property around biodiversity, culture and the Coorg region.

Edgewood Tahoe Resort joins from the shores of Lake Tahoe in Nevada. Preferred notes the property holds LEED Silver certification.

Charleston and Ras Al Khaimah

The Cooper is the North American urban entry. Preferred describes it as a Southern interpretation of luxury in Charleston, South Carolina, pairing waterfront views with a connection to the city’s history.

The eleventh addition is not trading yet. Wynn Al Marjan Island debuts in Ras Al Khaimah in spring 2027. Preferred says the property will bring a fully integrated resort to the United Arab Emirates for the first time, with a 70-storey tower housing more than 1,500 accommodations, over 20 dining venues, a beach club, a private marina, gardens and pools.

What the Group Says About the Growth

Preferred ties the intake to what it says luxury guests now want. The group frames the new members around cultural immersion, regenerative and nature-based escapes, personalised urban stays and destination-defining resorts, and cites its own Luxury Travel Report as the basis for that reading.

The Legend Collection is the highest tier of Preferred’s global collections. The group represents more than 625 hotels, resorts, residences and hotel groups across 80 countries.

Ueberroth on the Intake

Lindsey Ueberroth, chief executive of Preferred Hotels & Resorts, said the additions reflect how guests are choosing hotels. “Today’s luxury traveller is not looking for one prescribed idea of the perfect hotel,” she said. “They are seeking experiences that speak to their individual interests, whether that means reconnecting with nature, engaging with a destination’s cultural heritage, discovering a new culinary perspective, or experiencing an iconic city from a more personal point of view. The latest additions to our Legend Collection reflect this shift while sharing the distinctive character that make each of them a legendary hotel.”
