Mystic Groton Residence Inn Refreshes 128 Suites
Residence Inn by Marriott Mystic Groton has debuted a refreshed guest experience across its 128 suites, its gathering spaces and its interiors. LODGING Magazine carried the announcement on 17 September 2026 under its Design section.
The hotel is all-suite and sits minutes from Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic Aquarium, downtown Mystic and the region's waterfront. The announcement describes no structural work.
The Suites
Each of the 128 suites separates living space from sleeping space and carries a full kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, a cooktop, a microwave, a dishwasher and dining essentials. The hotel states that every suite is built for longer stays.
The announcement publishes no rate, no minimum-stay rule and no room inventory beyond the 128 suites.
The Design Brief
The redesign draws on Mystic's maritime heritage. The interiors use coastal color palettes, natural textures, warm wood finishes and artwork that marks the area's seafaring history. Communal areas are set up for guests to relax, connect or work.
Carmen Nunez, general manager of the property, said the aim was warmth, comfort and a visible connection to the destination.
“Whether guests are visiting for business, an extended assignment, or a family vacation along Connecticut’s coastline, we wanted every space to feel warm, comfortable, and connected to the destination,” Nunez said. “This renovation allows us to deliver the comforts of home while creating an even better experience for guests exploring everything Mystic has to offer.”
Amenities
In-room amenities include complimentary high-speed WiFi, Marriott Mobile Key, smart televisions and flexible workspaces. The hotel also lists complimentary daily breakfast, a 24-hour fitness center, pet-friendly accommodations, outdoor gathering spaces and flexible meeting space. The meeting space serves the business and extended-assignment guests the suite layout targets.
What the Announcement Leaves Out
The item carries no completion date, no project cost, no designer, no architect and no construction schedule. The publisher's headline reads “Completes Renovation”, and the body underneath reads “debuted a refreshed guest experience”.
