A Beer Festival on a Public Roof Comes With the Building's Terms

SF Beer Week Fest 2026 booked a public roof for a 1:30pm start. TJPA's published terms set the alcohol permission, the 8pm close and the lift-only access.

One festival, one date, one roof

SF Beer Week Fest 2026 ran on Saturday 21 February at Salesforce Park. The Fest page carries that date, and the FAQ names Saturday, Feb. 21. The day guide starts it at 1:30pm.

The Bay Area Brewers Guild produces the event with Barebottle Brewing. The Guild calls it the tentpole of the week, and the page states that 100 percent of proceeds go to the Guild. A ticket buys unlimited tastings, live entertainment and a reusable tasting glass. Beer service needs a ticket and a guest aged 21 or over. The park stays open to all ages, and the views and free live entertainment need no ticket. Rain moves the event indoors at the same venue.

No 2027 Fest date appears on the organiser's pages. The terms below governed the 2026 booking.

The building publishes its own terms

The Transbay Joint Powers Authority owns and operates Salesforce Transit Center and Salesforce Park. Both are public. Salesforce holds a 25-year sponsorship for naming and signage. The park covers 5.4 acres, sits 70 feet above the Grand Hall, runs nearly four city blocks and carries 600 trees and 16,000 plants in 13 botanical feature areas along a half-mile loop.

Three clocks decide the day

The park opens at 6am and closes at 8pm from November 1 to April 30. It closes at 9pm from May 1 to October 31. The Grand Hall opens daily at 5am and closes at 10pm. The Level 3 Bus Deck runs from 5am to 1am.

A 1:30pm start against an 8pm park close leaves 6.5 hours on the roof. The organiser publishes no finish time.

The alcohol clause comes first

The venue FAQ bars alcoholic beverages of any kind in the park. Drinks must come from a restaurant, café or another business holding TJPA special permission, and they must stay inside the designated café and restaurant areas.

A festival that pours beer on the roof therefore runs on a TJPA special permission. The site publishes no terms for one.

The surrounding rules are published. Barbecue, grills and open flames need a permit. Prepared food and non-alcoholic drinks may come in. Chairs may not.

The rentable inventory

Two spaces carry published rental capacities. The Central Lawn holds 150 people and the Wetlands Garden holds 50. The park page also gives the Amphitheater Lawn a capacity of up to 1,000 people.

Private events run in limited designated areas. Groups of 25 or more need a permit or reservation. A gathering of 26 to 150 people that needs no private space, serves no alcohol and involves simple activity takes a TJPA gathering permit at no fee. Activity that is promoted or open to the public becomes an event and takes a different permit. Advertised performances, exhibitions, amplified sound and other organised programming fall under the Private Event or Experiential Activations categories.

The Fest's own footprint and any fee attached to it stay unpublished.

Rain adds a second room to the booking

The organiser's rain plan moves the event indoors at the same venue. That puts the Grand Hall and the roof on one booking for one date. The Grand Hall runs to 10pm and the roof closes at 8pm.

The checklist a host property inherits

The published terms set the requirements. Alcohol needs written permission from the building owner, with service confined to designated areas. The park's closing time ends the day. Seating comes from the venue, because chairs cannot enter. Every delivery and every guest arrives by lift, through five elevator sets and one escalator, and none by car, because the site has no parking. The rain plan needs a second interior space held on the same date. A 21-and-over service area sits inside a public park open to all ages. Service animals enter, other animals stay out, and bicycles stay out of the Grand Hall and the park.

What the record leaves out

The Fest page carries no ticket price. Its Buy Tickets link resolves to the site's home page. No attendance figure appears on the Fest page. The Transit Center's own pages carry no Fest listing.
