A four-night anchor at the end of October
The Indiana Convention Center publishes the SHPE National Conference for October 28 to October 31, 2026. The forecast attendance on the venue page is 15,000. The convention holds four nights, Wednesday through Saturday.
The venue's event calendar names the bookings on either side. The State Board of Law Admission Ceremony fills the Sagamore Ballroom on October 26 at 1,800. The National Science Teaching Association fall convention runs November 4 to 7 at 4,000. The National FFA Convention and Expo opens the run on October 21 to 24 at 70,000.
The block the organiser publishes
Nine official hotels carry a negotiated nightly rate. The Westin Hotel Indianapolis, Courtyard Indianapolis Downtown and Omni Severin Hotel sit at $189. Fairfield Indianapolis Downtown is $194. SpringHill Suites Indianapolis Downtown is $214. Conrad Indianapolis is $249. Indianapolis Marriott Downtown, Hyatt Regency Indianapolis and JW Marriott Indianapolis sit at $269.
The ladder runs $189 to $269 with a median of $214. Four nights cost $756 at the low tier, $856 at the median and $1,076 at the high tier.
Four housing dates are published. Housing opened August 11, 2026. The name-change deadline is September 15, 2026. Housing closes October 14, 2026. Hotel direct opens October 21, 2026. Maritz is the housing vendor named on the organiser's travel page.
What the city publishes about its own stock
The venue footer carries 7,100 hotel rooms in downtown Indianapolis and 4,700 rooms connected to the center by skywalk. Those two lines repeat across the venue's event pages, news pages and expansion page.
Visit Indy publishes its own count. Its connected-hotels page gives 12 hotels and 5,200 rooms connected once the Signia opens, plus more than 10,000 rooms within walking distance of the convention center.
The rotation
The organiser's Future Conventions table lists four Indianapolis entries across seven dates. After the 2026 edition come Houston on October 6-9, 2027, Denver on November 8-12, 2028, and Indianapolis again on October 17-20, 2029. The 2030 edition is listed as to be determined. Orlando takes October 29 to November 1, 2031, and Indianapolis returns on November 3-6, 2032.
Incoming supply
The venue news page carries the supply line. An item dated April 21, 2026 reports that the 800-room Signia by Hilton Indianapolis is accepting reservations for stays beginning February 1, 2027.
The item describes the property as the city's tallest hotel and the Convention Center's newest headquarters hotel. The City of Indianapolis owns the hotel. The Capital Improvement Board of Managers of Marion County leads operations. The building sits along the Georgia Street pedestrian promenade in the Wholesale District, with direct skywalk access to the Convention Center and access to Lucas Oil Stadium and Gainbridge Fieldhouse. The item names seven dining experiences, a wellness and fitness center and Indiana's largest ballroom. Signia is the brand's first property in the Midwest and in Indiana.
The venue's expansion page adds the meeting inventory. It puts the hotel at 803 rooms on a December 2026 target, with 90,000 square feet of meeting space. That space includes a 50,455-square-foot Grand Ballroom, a 15,668-square-foot Junior Ballroom and a 9,000-square-foot Signature Ballroom. The page counts 2,500 construction jobs, 400 new hotel jobs and almost $300 million in annual economic impact.
The room count is published four ways. The April news item says 800 and the expansion page says 803. Bradford Allen's market report says 800. Newmark's supply table says 814, delivered in Q4 2026 by Kite Realty Group Trust. Each figure carries its publisher.
What the supply lands into
Bradford Allen's Indianapolis market report of March 19, 2026 cites the Downtown Indy Alliance snapshot, which draws on CoStar and STR. Downtown occupancy averages 64.7 percent. Average daily rate averages $209.11. Revenue per available room averages $135.20. The same report cites 8.1 million room nights of demand in the 12 months to mid-2025, and a construction pipeline of more than 1,500 rooms with 3,402 in final planning and 3,220 proposed.
Newmark's 4Q 2025 Indianapolis hotel market report carries the metro line on Kalibri Labs data. Metro year-to-date RevPAR change is minus 4.8 percent. The RevPAR performance index is 0.914, second of 16 Midwest markets.
The Signia's 814 rooms equal 11.5 percent of the 7,100 rooms in the venue's own downtown count.
