TMGOC Ventures Rebrands as Montford Group

TMGOC Ventures has rebranded as Montford Group. The firm announced the name change in a release dated 29 September 2026. Hotel Business carried the rebrand on 30 September 2026 under the byline Adam Perkowsky.

The firm states that the transition changes its name and identity. Ownership, leadership team, investment philosophy, portfolio and partner commitments carry over unchanged.

The platform

Montford Group represents approximately $1.5 billion in existing investments and development pipeline, according to the firm, and more than 4,233 hotel keys across the United States.

The firm invests across select-service, lifestyle and luxury hospitality. Its stated capabilities span acquisitions, development, asset management, capital formation and structured investments.

Across the portfolio the firm names Marriott International, The Ritz-Carlton, Autograph Collection, Moxy by Marriott, Hilton, Hyatt and Accor’s Fairmont.

Recent work

The firm states that the rebrand follows a period of investment activity. It names the Fairmont and Element by Westin conversion in downtown New Orleans, The Ritz-Carlton hotel and residences in Savannah and the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel in Maryland.

Patel on the change

“Montford Group represents the evolution of our firm, not a change in its foundation,” said Sunju Patel, cofounder and managing partner. “We have built this platform by combining an entrepreneurial approach to identifying opportunities with institutional discipline in how we invest, capitalize and execute.”

Glenn Alba, cofounder and managing partner, said the focus stays the same. “We are committed to disciplined investing, thoughtful capitalization and strong execution, working alongside our dedicated partners,” Alba said.

The Montford name

The firm states that the Montford name holds personal significance for Patel and reflects its roots in Charleston, South Carolina, where Patel began building his real estate platform. Alba spent approximately two decades at Blackstone Real Estate, most recently as managing director, and took part in more than $10 billion of hospitality transactions and asset management, according to the firm. The two first partnered on the development of Moxy Charleston Downtown and combined their platforms in 2022.

What comes next

Under the Montford Group name the firm states it will keep pursuing acquisitions, value-add repositionings, adaptive reuse, ground-up development and select structured capital opportunities. Asian Hospitality reported that the firm is based in Boca Raton, Florida.
