Conrad Nagoya Sets a Harry Winston Tea After a Wedding-Led Start

Conrad Nagoya's general manager reports wedding and celebration demand in the hotel's first two months and sets a Harry Winston afternoon tea from 2 November to 27 December.

Conrad Nagoya is drawing local guests to celebration bookings and to its restaurants, two months after opening on 31 July. TTG Asia published the general manager's comments on 9 October, in an interview by Karen Yue with Markus Kosch.

The hotel occupies the upper floors of The Landmark Nagoya Sakae, the tallest skyscraper in the Sakae district, and connects directly to Sakae Station. Mitsubishi Estate owns the building. Hilton announced the opening in a release dated 31 July 2026 and lists 170 guest rooms, 29 of them suites, each above 50 square metres.

Kosch Reports Wedding and Celebration Demand

Kosch said proposals, weddings and anniversary parties have driven bookings across the hotel's first two months of trading. He published no booking count and no revenue figure, so the demand reading stands as his account of the market.

He credited timing and address. In his account Conrad Nagoya is the luxury hotel the city had waited for, and the Sakae location suits guests looking for high-end experiences. He also credited the brand's Japanese footprint. Conrad Tokyo opened 20 years ago and Conrad Osaka 10 years ago, and Kosch said both have been popular with Japanese guests for high-end weddings.

Weddings Without a Chapel on Site

The hotel has no wedding chapel, and Kosch said it has still secured several wedding bookings. Banquets run in the Grand Ballroom. Couples have chosen the rooftop bar, House of Mon, for ceremonies because of the views over the city. Hilton's opening release puts the Grand Ballroom at 342 square metres with an eight-metre ceiling, on event floors that occupy levels 10 and 11.

Kosch described Nagoya as a conservative market where wealthy residents keep their spending to themselves. He said Nagoya ranks third in Japan for wedding spend, behind Tokyo and Osaka. Both statements come from his interview answers rather than from a published market study.

The First Bloom Tea Runs at Sundrop

The hotel's first seasonal dining programme, The First Bloom afternoon tea, runs at Sundrop, the lobby lounge and bar. Kosch said the market has received it extremely well and that the service has built a strong social media presence. The menu pairs tea with flowers, desserts carry floral essences or colours, and the service pours 25 Japanese teas free-flow.

Harry Winston's Holiday Afternoon Tea Runs From 2 November

Conrad Nagoya will follow The First Bloom with an afternoon tea collaboration with the American jeweller Harry Winston. Kosch said the service, named Harry Winston's Holiday Afternoon Tea, runs from 2 November to 27 December this year.

The menu carries handmade macarons flavoured with Christmas spices, pastries built around Christmas motifs, savoury bites with seasonal ingredients, and Sundrop's beverage selection. Sundrop's interior will take on elements of Harry Winston's design for the run. TTG Asia's report publishes no price for the collaboration.

Dining Draws Local Guests Beyond Events

Kosch said Nagoya residents also come for birthdays and gatherings with friends, drawn to the dining venues and food and beverage. Hilton's opening release lists six restaurants and bars across the 31st and 40th floors: Sundrop, the Italian restaurant Casa Oliva, the cafe Songbird, the sushi kaiseki restaurant Soryu, the teppanyaki restaurant Soen, and the rooftop bar House of Mon.

What the Programming Says About the Market

Kosch expects the collaborations to draw local guests and international visitors who treat a hotel as more than a place to sleep. The hotel holds 170 keys in a city where Hilton has traded since Hilton Nagoya opened in 1989. Hilton's release lists Conrad Yokohama and Conrad Kobe as the brand's next openings in Japan, and puts Conrad at 51 hotels across five continents.

Conrad Nagoya's next published programming step is the Harry Winston tea, which opens on 2 November and runs through 27 December.
