The Opening
Wynn Las Vegas opened Cliff House on Friday 2 October, a two-level clubhouse above the 18th green at Wynn Golf Club. TravelZork reported the opening on 8 October.
The building holds Cliff House Grill, a player's lounge, a pro shop, locker rooms and a rooftop tee. A starting point on the course now sits on the clubhouse roof.
The Chef and the Draw
Executive Chef Patricia Gamez runs Cliff House Grill. Her menu runs from breakfast through afternoon small plates, with Sticky Toffee Pancakes, an 18th Hole Benedict, a Bigeye Tuna Aguachile and a marinated steak sandwich.
Wynn's dining page answers the commercial question. The grill takes resort guests, Las Vegas locals and visitors whether or not they play a round. The dress code is resort casual, and children under five are welcome.
The Design
Skidmore, Owings & Merrill designed the clubhouse with Wynn Design & Development. The report records architectural elements intended to acknowledge the Desert Inn, which occupied the property before Wynn Las Vegas was built.
The Room and the View
The dining room and its open-air terrace look over the 18th green, a course waterfall, mature trees and open desert. Wynn's page states that the Strip sits hidden from sight.
Hours and the Walk In
Breakfast and lunch run daily from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Small bites run from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. The bar runs from 9:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The restaurant answers at (702) 770-3315. From the main valet the route runs through the main lobby toward Caffè Al Teatro, past Terrace Pointe Café to the Fairway Esplanade, then through the doors beside Sartiano's Italian Steakhouse and along the outdoor path.
What the Opening Adds
Cliff House gives Wynn Golf Club a clubhouse with a full restaurant, and it gives the resort a dining room off the casino floor. The report singles out the rooftop tee as the unusual feature of the build.
