Dreamscape Hospitality takes over management of The Doyle

Dreamscape Hospitality took over management of The Doyle in Charlottesville, Virginia, on 30 September. The 80-room hotel will move to Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

Dreamscape takes the management contract at The Doyle

Dreamscape Hospitality has assumed management of The Doyle in Charlottesville, Virginia. The assignment took effect 30 September, and the Dallas operator announced it on 7 October.

The hotel will move to Tapestry Collection by Hilton.

The work Dreamscape sets out

Dreamscape sets its remit as operational performance, guest satisfaction and revenue potential. The company says it will work alongside the property team through the transition.

Adam Patenaude, president of Dreamscape Hospitality, tied the assignment to the property’s type and its location. “The Doyle represents the type of distinctive, experience-driven property that aligns well with Dreamscape Hospitality’s approach to management,” he said. “Its location in Charlottesville, proximity to the University of Virginia and collection of food and beverage outlets create a strong foundation for the property’s next chapter.”

The hotel at 499 West Main Street

The Doyle sits on West Main Street, between the University of Virginia and the Downtown Mall.

It holds 80 rooms in a four-story building. Trade coverage of the property’s April 2024 sale records both figures.

The release names four food and beverage outlets: The Lobby Bar + Restaurant, The Café, the Speakeasy + Whiskey Bar and UP on the Roof. It describes UP on the Roof as the rooftop destination, with panoramic views, seasonal bites, cocktails, local beer and wine, and indoor and outdoor seating.

Jamie Grittman joins as vice president of sales and marketing

The same announcement names Jamie Grittman vice president of sales and marketing. She will lead sales and marketing strategy across the operator’s hotel collection.

LODGING’s appointments column of 7 October carries her background: more than 19 years in hospitality, with senior leadership positions at Welcome Group, Remington Hospitality and Aimbridge Hospitality. Dreamscape’s team page lists her beside Brad Frazier, who holds the same title.

What the release leaves open

The release carries no room count, no management fee and no contract term. It sets no date for the Tapestry Collection transition.

Dreamscape’s portfolio page lists 36 properties under management. The Doyle is one of them.
