OTO Development Takes the Contract at Phipps Plaza
OTO Development has assumed management of the AC Hotel Atlanta Buckhead at Phipps Plaza. The hotel holds 166 rooms inside the Buckhead shopping and mixed-use center. Simon Property Group owns the asset.
OTO Development operates under The Johnson Group. The company counts the addition as its 57th hotel and its 11th AC Hotel by Marriott.
Interstate Held the Contract, Then Aimbridge
The hotel opened in October 2016 as Georgia’s first AC Hotel property. Interstate Hotels & Resorts held the management contract from opening. The contract carried into Aimbridge Hospitality after the two companies merged in 2019. Hoodline carried the change on 15 October 2026. Aimbridge continues to run the Aloft Atlanta Downtown by Marriott and the Atlanta Marriott Alpharetta.
What the Building Carries
The hotel offers three suites and 1,258 square feet of meeting and event space. The AC Kitchen serves breakfast. The AC Lounge serves cocktails, light bites and shareable plates. The building holds an outdoor patio, a 24-hour fitness center and an indoor whirlpool. The address is 3600 Wieuca Road NE.
Simon Rebuilt the Center Around It
Simon replaced the former Belk department store through a redevelopment reported at roughly $300 million. The programme added the 152-room Nobu Hotel and Restaurant, the 13-story One Phipps Plaza office tower and a 90,000-square-foot Life Time athletic center.
Rob Rain on the Addition
Rob Rain, chief executive officer of OTO Development, called the hotel a natural fit for the company. He said the company looks forward to building on the property’s success.
What the Notice Leaves Out
The announcement states no management fee, no contract term and no transition date. It names no prior operator. OTO Development’s own newsroom carried no item on the addition at the time of writing, and its newest entry is dated 10 September 2026.
