Spire Hospitality Launches Asset Performance Division, Names Khan SVP

Spire Hospitality has created a Strategic Asset Performance division and promoted Shozib Khan to senior vice president to lead it.

Spire Hospitality has launched a Strategic Asset Performance division. The Irving, Texas operator said the unit combines financial strategy, business intelligence, technology, AI and hotel resources around hotel and portfolio performance.

The company announced the division on September 30, 2026. LODGING Magazine carried the announcement the same day, and hotelbusiness.com ran its own report.

Khan leads the division

Spire promoted Shozib Khan to senior vice president of Strategic Asset Performance to lead the unit. His remit now covers information technology, hotel resources and transitions, brand resources, financial planning and hotel systems, along with the company’s AI and enterprise automation strategy and direct work with owners on hotel performance.

The chief executive on the mandate

“Owners expect their management partners to do more than explain performance after the fact,” said Spire Hospitality chief executive Richard Sandoval. “We need to see opportunities sooner and have the structure to act on them. Strategic Asset Performance creates that accountability, giving our teams a clearer path from what we’re seeing across the portfolio to actions that improve performance and strengthen asset value.”

Sandoval called Khan the right person to lead the division and said the role reflects the impact Khan has already had across the business.

What the division does

Spire said the division will build financial models around major decisions, provide executive oversight to selected hotels when more attention is needed, and move financial planning toward predictive work.

“The next evolution of hotel performance is seeing where the opportunity is before it shows up in a month-end report,” Khan said. “We’re moving financial intelligence closer to the property, putting the right resources behind what we find, and doing it fast enough to change the outcome.”

Khan’s record

Khan brings more than 25 years of hospitality leadership experience to the role, spanning hotel operations and the enterprise functions the division now combines. He was most recently Spire’s vice president of owner services, and before that vice president of hotel performance and analytics.

Where Spire sits

Spire Hospitality describes itself as an owner-centric hotel management company. Its portfolio holds independent hotels and brands including Marriott and Hilton, along with independent resorts and lifestyle hotels. Spire states that it brings more than 35 years of hotel operating experience.

The announcement carries no financial figure for the division and no headcount.
