SSN Hotel Management buys the Embassy Suites Philadelphia Airport

SSN Hotel Management has acquired the Embassy Suites Philadelphia Airport. The hotel holds 263 keys and 96,500 square feet at 9000 Bartram Ave. in Philadelphia.

JLL’s Hotels & Hospitality group arranged the sale and represented the seller, Ashford Hospitality Trust. JLL announced the transaction on 7 October.

The hotel traded free and clear of management. The Embassy Suites flag and the Hilton Honors loyalty program stay with the property.

What stands on the 6.11 acres

The building runs six stories on roughly 6.11 acres. JLL calls it upper-upscale and non-union, renovated in 2017.

The room product is 263 two-room suites, each with separate living and sleeping areas, a wet bar, a microwave and a refrigerator.

The amenity set covers 5,634 square feet of meeting and event space, an indoor pool, a fitness center, a business center, airport shuttle service, on-site dining venues and 254 parking spaces.

The airport corridor

The hotel sits minutes from Philadelphia International Airport. JLL calls the airport one of the nation’s busiest aviation hubs and American Airlines’ primary Northeast hub.

Interstate 95 runs nearby. The release lists Center City Philadelphia, the University of Pennsylvania, Lincoln Financial Field and Citizens Bank Park as short drives. It names Boeing’s Ridley Park helicopter plant and the Philadelphia Navy Yard among corporate demand sources.

JLL director Vasilis Halakos led the transaction team. He tied the demand case to airport spending and to supply. “With the airport’s $2 billion modernization underway and limited opportunities for new hotel development in the airport corridor, the property is well positioned to benefit from diverse demand,” he said.

Peter Bhai on the investment case

Peter Bhai is co-founder and chief executive of SSN. He put the case on operating fundamentals and product type.

“Embassy Suites Philadelphia Airport is an excellent addition to our growing portfolio,” Bhai said. “We were attracted to the property’s strong operating fundamentals, all-suite product and strategic location adjacent to one of the nation’s most important transportation hubs.”

A second statement covers asset management. “This investment reflects our continued commitment to acquiring high-quality hospitality assets in markets with durable demand and attractive long-term value creation potential,” he said.

The price and the closing date

The JLL release prints no purchase price and no closing date. Ashford’s filings carry both.

Ashford’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended 30 June 2026 records a definitive agreement dated 27 July 2026 to sell the 263-room Embassy Suites Philadelphia for $26.0 million. The agreement carried a $500,000 nonrefundable deposit, paid in July 2026.

An 8-K Ashford filed on 9 October 2026 for an event dated 6 October 2026 records completion of that sale. The seller was Ashford Philly LP, an indirect wholly owned subsidiary. The purchaser was SSN 9000 Bartram Road LLC. The price was approximately $26.0 million in cash, subject to customary prorations and adjustments.

The 8-K names the purchasing entity. The JLL release names SSN Hotel Management. Neither document names the manager the hotel will carry.
