Treehouse Manchester fits out floors 11 to 15
Treehouse Hotel Manchester has added three food and drink venues and nine suites. The hotel stands at the corner of Blackfriars Street and Deansgate. It opened in March 2025.
The new food and drink venues sit on the 14th and 15th floors. The suites sit on the 11th and 12th floors. Treehouse is one of three brands operated by Starwood Hotels, alongside 1 Hotels and Baccarat Hotels.
Sister Moon opens an open-fire kitchen
Sister Moon is the rooftop restaurant. Chef Sam Grainger runs it with Luke Cowdrey and Justin Crawford. Grainger owns Belzan in Liverpool.
The kitchen cooks over open fire and pairs British produce with Southeast Asian technique. The menu holds red prawn toast with red curry bisque, barbecue octopus with massaman curry, Singapore chilli crab with lobster baked noodles, and an 80-day-aged beef ribeye with black garlic and pepper.
Cowdrey and Crawford shape the room. Their credits include Freight Island, Volta and Electric Chair. Sister Moon plans New Moon Suppers and sound-and-taste pairing events.
The Nest and The Hideout sit above it
The Nest is the rooftop cocktail bar. The drinks list runs on agave. Named serves include the Green Mango Margarita, the mezcal-based Smoked Cherry Harlem and the Gold Light Spritz.
The bar has booked Skyline Takeovers with guest DJs, Golden Hour Rituals and Brand in Residence pop-ups.
The Hideout sits one floor above The Nest. It opens Thursday to Saturday. It carries an outdoor terrace and takes private dinners and performances.
Nine suites land on floors 11 and 12
The expansion adds nine suites across the 11th and 12th floors. The release names Presidential Suites and interconnecting rooms. A suite carries a living area, a dining area, a kitchenette, a walk-in wardrobe and a reading nook. Several suites combine into one larger unit for a family or a group.
Nicholas Demasi, senior vice president of food and beverage at Starwood Hotels, said the new venues draw on the city and its residents.
House of Black designs the new floors
House of Black designed the interiors with the Starwood Hotels design team. The palette runs to reclaimed woods, patchwork textiles, greenery and collected objects. The art set includes pressed flowers, mixed-media work, etched mirrors and bespoke wallpaper.
Padel, a sauna and a gym join the hotel
The Pollen Club's two padel courts sit next door under a waterproof canopy. A guest can book a lesson, join a tournament or rally with friends. Friday evenings run as Serve & Social, with DJs, drinks and food from Sister Moon.
The Good Sauna Co. installed a wood-fired Finnish sauna, a cold plunge and a campfire area outdoors. The Playground gym carries Technogym equipment. Devon Levesque and Chris Howell of SBX designed it. Classes run from group workouts to sunset yoga and guided meditation. The Playground sells memberships to Manchester residents.
Pip, Flix and the base hotel
Pip is the all-day lounge and bar. Chef Mary-Ellen McTague heads the kitchen. The hotel's own site lists Pip in the MICHELIN Guide. Pip also carries coworking space and a programme that runs from pickling classes to art workshops.
Flix is a 43-seat screening room with 4K projection and Dolby Atmos. The event space holds up to 400 guests.
Barry Sternlicht, founder and chairman of Starwood Hotels, said he imagined Treehouse as a place that feels like a home. Raul Leal, the company's chief executive, said the expansion makes the hotel an urban resort.
